WESTLAB HERO: CHERRY JACKSON
At Westlab we hear from so many inspiring people on a daily basis, that we wanted to find a way to share some of their stories with our community.
This year, we have launched #westlabheroes as a monthly feature.
After interviewing our nominated hero, we send them a Westlab Heroes pamper package to help support them so they can continue to do their brilliant work!
We’re proud to introduce Cherry Jackson, who has been deservedly titled our first 'Westlab Hero'.
After tragically losing her daughter, Georgia, to suicide in 2017, Cherry discovered the wonderful support group and charity, Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (@sobscharity).
Georgia had a huge passion for football, so last year Cherry decided to hold a women's football tournament in her memory and raised an astonishing £10,000 for SOBS. The event was such a success that they intend to repeat the tournament annually - the next one will be held on 18th May at Sawbridgeworth Town football club for anyone who would like to take part!
Finding people like Cherry and hearing their story is a privilege and truly inspirational.
